Imagine a cruise with just 300 guests on board. And a cruise ship with actual sails. Now add that this smaller sailing vessel can reach ports the large ships can’t so you get to experience private events on secluded beaches. Have the image in your head? It’s not a dream, it’s a small ship cruise on a luxury line such as Windstar Cruises.
Wind Surf cruise yacht
Here’s a sample itinerary of one of Windstar’s Caribbean cruises from March 2015 aboard the flagship Wind Surf. I’ve included links to Virtual Vacation posts for each destination.
Day 1 – Depart your U.S. city of choice for the island of St. Maarten. Spend the afternoon/evening at leisure.
Day 2 – Spend the morning exploring Philipsburg, St. Maarten before boarding your ship in the afternoon. Enjoy a champagne welcome reception as you sail away this evening.
Day 3 – Enjoy a peaceful morning on the secluded beaches of Barbuda. Visit the Frigate Bird sanctuary on an optional excursion.
Day 4 – Snorkel, hike or take a tour to one of Dominica‘s amazing natural sites. They do call it the Nature Island for a reason!
Day 5 – Experience a special treat as Windstar hosts a private beach party on St. Lucia‘s Pigeon Island. A number of optional shore excursions are also available for those wishing to see more of this beautiful, romantic island.
Day 6 – Today is a great day to take advantage of your ship’s water platform as you anchor near iles des Saintes in Guadeloupe.
Day 7 – Visit the national parks of St. Kitts in the morning and the beaches of Nevis in the afternoon.
Day 8 – Take in the French culture and food at the yachtsman paradise of St. Barts.
Day 9 – Arrive back in St. Maarten and disembark the Wind Surf. Take an afternoon flight back to the U.S. or enjoy additional days in St. Maarten.
Prices vary based on exact itinerary, dates and cabin preference.
